Swan’s Fine Books is pleased to offer special evening events on about a monthly basis. Please contact us for details on the next scheduled event!
Please join us for our evening events; while we do ask for RSVPs, there is no charge to attend. On Thursday, November 19th , David J. Theroux, Founder and President of the C.S. Lewis Society of California will be joining us. Fifty years after his passing, what makes C.S. Lewis as influential as ever?
One of the bestselling authors of all time, the appeal of Lewis’s writings continues to expand, including being popularized on stage, TV, radio, and the movies. Readers of his vast array of books find themselves reflecting upon an elusive quality in how he combined reason and imagination.
This is the Lewis who created Narnia, Malacandra, and Glome; defended the credibility of the New Testament; articulated the essence of Mere Christianity; took us on tours of Heaven and Hell; critiqued the dehumanization of modern life; and wrote learned treatises in literature and mankind’s unswerving quest for perfect love and joy.
Please plan to join us for this discussion; there is no charge to attend, but we do require an R.S.V.P. to ensure enough seating for all.

A Book Club That Reads the Classics
If you are a lover of classic literature and you’d like to read and discuss the great classic works with others, please join our Book Club. The group meets one/month, and everyone is welcome.
Some of our selections have included works by Joseph Conrad, Willa Cather, F. Scott Fitzgerald, George Eliot, and Nora Zeale Thurston. We generally meet once/month for an hour to discuss the book just read, and we announce the upcoming book about two months in advance.
Please contact us if you would like to be added to the Book Club email list!
