Swan’s Fine Books is pleased to offer special evening events on about a monthly basis. Please contact us for details on the next scheduled event!
Please join us for our evening events; while we do ask for RSVPs, there is no charge to attend. On Thursday, March 26th , Roberto Palumbo, playwright and Professor Emerita (Holy Names University) will present the story of the secret courtship of young, robust Robert Browning and older, frail Elizabeth Barrett, including several of Elizabeth’s famous sonnets: from her desire for death to her acceptance of life with Robert – certainly a story of “love gone good.”
Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
A Book Club That Reads the Classics
If you are a lover of classic literature and you’d like to read and discuss the great classic works with others, please join our Book Club. The group meets one/month, and everyone is welcome.
Some of our selections have included works by Joseph Conrad, Willa Cather, F. Scott Fitzgerald, George Eliot, and Nora Zeale Thurston. We generally meet once/month for an hour to discuss the book just read, and we announce the upcoming book about two months in advance.
Please contact us if you would like to be added to the Book Club email list!
